How a system is looked after

One company from the first visit to the tenth service

Every system we cover goes through the same four stages. We do all of them, so nothing falls between an installer and a maintenance firm.

Stage 1

Installation

We survey the building, design the system to suit it and fit it neatly, with cable runs that are hidden wherever the building allows.

Stage 2

Commissioning

Every device is tested and set up, the system is handed over with paperwork, and you are shown how to use it.

Stage 3

Servicing

Planned visits at the intervals the standards set, so faults are found on a service visit and not at three in the morning.

Stage 4

Maintenance

Repairs, replacement detectors and batteries, and upgrades as the building or the rules change.

Who we work for

Homes and businesses get different systems

Homes and landlords

Interlinked smoke and heat alarms that meet the Scottish standard, burglar alarms you can set from your phone, and cameras on the drive and the back door. Landlords get the paperwork their letting agent and licence ask for.

Businesses and buildings

Addressable fire alarm systems to BS 5839, graded intruder alarms, CCTV that records what an insurer will ask for, and fob access for staff. Service contracts that keep the logbook in order.

Commercial premises

Scottish homes

Interlinked fire alarms are the law in Scotland

Since February 2022 every home in Scotland needs a smoke alarm in the living room, one in every hallway and landing, and a heat alarm in the kitchen, all linked so that when one sounds they all sound. A carbon monoxide alarm is needed where there is a boiler, fire or other carbon fuelled appliance.

What your home needs

24/7 monitoring

An alarm nobody hears is just a noise

We connect fire and intruder alarms to an approved Alarm Receiving Centre. When your system signals, trained operators see it straight away and act on it, whether that means calling you, your keyholders or the fire service.

  • Fire alarms and intruder alarms
  • Homes, shops, offices and industrial units
  • Existing systems connected, not just new installs
  • Keyholder details and response plan set up with you

Why JMC

  • A clear written quote. What is being fitted, where, and what it costs, before any work starts.
  • Systems we did not fit. We take over servicing on existing fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV, whoever installed them.
  • Tidy work. Cables clipped or hidden, dust sheets down, and the place left as we found it.
  • Someone who answers. A 24 hour call-out line for faults that will not wait.

“Very punctual and polite at all times with the end result excellent, very pleased with the quality of work carried out and price quoted.”
